Manamo Reader — Support
Help with reading, study, subscriptions and your account.

Contact us. Email support@manamo.net and we will get back to you as soon as we can. In the app you can also open Help & Feedback from the menu, which starts an email with your app version already filled in — that makes problems much faster to diagnose.
What Manamo Reader is
Manamo Reader is an e-reader for EPUB, PDF and HTML books with AI-assisted study built in: inline definitions, chapter guides, catch-up recaps, and flashcards with spaced repetition. It runs on iPhone, iPad and the web, and with Manamo Pro your library syncs between them.
Common questions
How do I add books?
Open Library → Import to add an EPUB or PDF from Files, iCloud Drive, or another app's share sheet. Discover also offers free public-domain books from Project Gutenberg, research papers from arXiv and PubMed, and curated article feeds, all of which import in a tap.
My library isn't syncing
Cloud sync is part of Manamo Pro. Without a subscription your books, highlights and progress stay on the device you added them to, and nothing is lost — but they will not appear on your other devices.
With Pro, sync needs you to be signed in on both devices with the same account and to have a network connection. Large books upload in the background, so a book added moments ago may still be on its way. If a book is stuck, open it once on the device you added it from, then check the other device again. If it persists, email us with the book's title and format.
An AI feature says I've reached a limit
AI features run against usage limits that protect the service from abuse and keep costs predictable. Free accounts get a smaller allowance than Manamo Pro. Limits run over rolling windows rather than resetting at a fixed time, so a feature you have hit a limit on becomes available again as that window passes.
Occasionally a feature reports that it is temporarily busy rather than that you are out of allowance. That is the service's overall capacity, not your account, and it clears on its own — subscribing will not change it. If you see a limit message that looks wrong for your plan, email us with the approximate time it happened.
An AI answer looks wrong
AI features are generated by language models and can be incomplete or mistaken. Every guide, summary and recap keeps the original passage one tap away — check the source before relying on anything, especially for research papers and medical or financial material. Reports of bad output are genuinely useful to us; send the book title and what you asked.
Managing Manamo Pro
- What Pro includes: a substantially larger AI allowance, more chapter illustrations each week, and cloud sync of your library, highlights and progress across devices.
- Where to buy it: subscriptions are sold through the App Store on iOS. Pro is tied to your account, so it applies when you sign in to the web app, but it cannot be purchased there.
- Restore a purchase: open the Manamo Pro screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.
- Cancel: subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. Go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the current period ends.
- Refunds: Apple handles all App Store refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them, but tell us what went wrong so we can fix it.
Deleting your account
Open Profile → Delete Account in the app. This is immediate and permanent: it erases your synced library, highlights, notes, flashcards, study history, usage records and your sign-in account itself. Analytics and crash-report data are deleted on a short schedule afterwards, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that separately in Settings as described above.
Read-aloud and Speak
Chapter narration and the selection menu's Speak action are currently switched off while their audio path is being reworked, so you will not find them in the app. The pronounce button on a definition card is separate — it uses your device's own speech engine and still works offline.
Reporting a bug
Use Help & Feedback → Report a bug in the app so your version and device details come along automatically. Otherwise email us with what happened, what you expected, and the steps to reproduce it. Screenshots help.
Accessibility
Manamo Reader supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and adjustable reading typography, themes and line spacing. If something is unusable with assistive technology we treat that as a bug — please tell us so we can look into it.
Privacy and terms
See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and how to delete it, and the Terms of Use for the terms covering the app and subscriptions.
